How To Enable Do Not Disturb (DND) In Mac?


As you all know that Mac Operating System notifications are very helpful for letting users be updated with calendar events, mails, messages, and many other things. At the same time, you can't neglect the fact that sometimes these same notifications are irritating.




Luckily, Apple gives Do Not Disturb feature on Mac. when you enable the DND mode, you will not be bothered by notifications, alerts, and pings. In this blog, we will go through the process of turning on and scheduling DND on Mac.

The method of immediately enabling Do not Disturb
1.     Firstly, look for the Notification Center symbol on the menu.
2.     Then, long press and keep holding the Option key.
3.     After that, press the Notification Center option.
4.     Next, note that the Notification Center symbol shall be grayed out, highlighting that DND has been activated.
5.     For disabling Do Not Disturb, you need to keep pressing and holding the Option button and press the Notification Center symbol one more time. Observe that the notifications shall start coming like earlier.

The method of enabling Do Not Disturb from the Notification Center
1.     Firstly, press the Notification Center symbol from the menu.
2.     Then, note that it will be opening the Notification Center tab.
3.     After that, put the cursor on the Notification Center tab and using two fingers swipe the Notification Center on your Mac trackpad.
4.     As a result, DND switch shall get displayed on the screen.
5.     Next, push the DND switch right and enable it.

The method of immediately scheduling DND
1.     Firstly, press the Notification Center icon from the menu itself. This shall result in opening the Notification Center tab.
2.     Then, press the settings cog. Towards the right-hand side you'll find the settings option for opening the Notifications settings window.
3.     After that,find the Do Not Disturb option.
4.     Next, press upward and downward arrows for setting the schedule.
Note: Luckily, you get the option of automatically enabling DND whenever your Mac's screen is in sleep mode or else whenever it is connected with the TV.
5.     If you wish to get your calls when the DND mode is enabled, you should put those preferences in the same window itself. Just need to put a tick on the checkbox for 'allow all calls' or else repeated calls from the same number.
