How to Download Songs on iPhone without iTunes


You can find a lot of music streaming apps for listening to your favorite music online. But what if you want to listen to music offline? You have the option to add songs to your iOS device by connecting it with a Mac or PC and using iTunes. Though it is not the only possible way of downloading music on your iPhone, you can do without the use of iTunes as well. 



Through Apple Music
Apple Music allows users to stream millions of songs with the use of an active internet connection. Even you can easily save the desired songs on your iPhone too. The detailed instruction is given below for you.
Saving individual songs on iPhone through Apple Music
1. Go to the Apple Music app on your iOS device.
2. Visit the section where your favorite track is, for saving it on your iPhone.
3. You will see a Plus symbol available on the right side of the song. Tap on it.
4. If you are adding songs for the very first time, you will have to enable iCloud Music Library.
5. Select the Turn On option for enabling the iCloud Music Library.
6. Once you tap on the Plus icon, it will turn into a cloud icon and the selected song will be in the library.
7. Tap on the cloud icon for saving the song on your device.
Saving albums and playlists on iPhone through Apple Music
Along with individual songs, you can even save the complete albums as well as playlists. Here’s how:
1. Tap on Apple Music app on your iPhone to open it.
2. Go to the album or playlist section if you wish to download them on your device.
3. Now, you need to move the desired music to the library. Tap on the +ADD button for that.
4. A notification will be shown to let you know that the chosen music is added to the library successfully.
5. The +ADD option will no longer be there. Instead, you will see the cloud with an arrow over there.
6. Touch the cloud icon with an arrow firmly for downloading the tracks on your iPhone.
7. The download process will start very soon.
Through YouTube Music
There is a dedicated Offline music feature that you get in the YouTube Music Premium app, which allows you to save the particular songs on your iPhone for listening offline. Follow these steps:
1. Go to the YouTube Music app on your iPhone and tap on it to open.
2. You will see a user avatar at the top right section, which allows you to see the details related to your account. Tap over there.
3. Now, tap on the Downloads option.
4. If you didn’t download any songs before, the Downloads section would be empty for you. Tap on settings cog available at the top.
5. You will get a couple of options now, for choosing, on screen. The available options allow downloading songs using Wi-Fi only, select the downloading quality, and asks if you want the audio or video.
6. Save songs on your iPhone by tapping the Download an offline mixtape option.
7. You can select up to 100 songs by moving the available slider on the screen back and forth.
8. Once you are satisfied with the selection, touch the X button for returning to the Downloads section and checking the status.
9. After the Offline mixtape is downloaded, you can enjoy it either through your speakers or headphones.
Through iCloud Drive
You can even get songs on your iPhone using iCloud Drive. However, you will have to move the collection of music from your Mac or external hard drive to iCloud Drive first. Once you are done with it, implement these steps:
1. Open iCloud Drive on your Mac with the use of Finder.
2. Go to File, then New Folder or hit shift + command + N button at the same time for creating a new folder.
3. Give a dedicated name to the folder such and ‘Music’ and then click twice on it for opening.
4. Choose the songs that you want on your iPhone and drag all of them to the created Music folder.
5. The selected songs will be uploaded on the iCloud Drive.
6. After the chosen tracks are uploaded, you can access them through iCloud.
7. Launch the Files app and then select iCloud Drive.
8. Open the Music folder that you created earlier to see all of the songs that you uploaded through Mac.
9. You can directly tap on the song or the cloud with a down arrow icon to get the song on your phone.
In this way, you can easily download music on your iPhone!
