PC Not Starting? Here’s How To Fix It


We often restart our PC whenever it is not working fine to fix the issue. But the sudden power failure sometimes extends the problem. If “Your PC did not start correctly” message pops up on screen after starting and booting your computer, here are a few best solutions to fix it.

Fix 1 – Safe Mode
You might not be able to login into your PC because of the issue. The best method is Safe Mode in your PC. It is an ideal troubleshooting option that starts the PC quickly. Follow these steps to reach Safe Mode in Windows:
1. Switch on your PC, press and hold the Shift key, and tap the F8 button continuously.
2. Recovery Mode menu will open, choose the advanced repair options over there.
3. Then, click the Troubleshoot option.
4. Select Advanced options button now with an icon featuring three ticks and horizontal lines.
5. Find the Windows Start-up Settings option on the screen and click the Restart button on the next screen to complete the process.
6. After the restart process, you will see Advanced Boot Options where you can select Safe Mode to run.
Fix 2 – Sfc/scannow
This command is helpful in numerous system-related problems and works great as a troubleshooter. Here are the instructions for running this command on Command Prompt:
1. Type cmd in the search bar
2. Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
3. Enter the sfc/scannow command and press Enter.
4. Wait until the process finishes.
Fix 3 – Stop antivirus
Antivirus might protect your system from malware and viruses but also slow down your PC and cause problems. So, it is better to pause the antivirus protection for a while until your issue fixes. You can also consider changing your antivirus if the problem continues. Various antiviruses are light on resources and ideal for use.
Fix 4 – Windows update
Microsoft keeps tracking issues the users face and works on improvements from time to time. The updates available on the Windows might fix the starting problem you are facing if you install the recent update. Visit the Settings section on your PC and then Updates & security to check the updates. Update the computer if it is available and restart to solve the problem you are facing.
Fix 5 – System restore
We make some changes accidentally our computers. System restore is a perfect solution for rewinding the system to its previous working version. If you don’t know how to perform System Restore, here are the steps:
1. Click the start screen and open Control Panel section.
2. You will see the Category view, choose System and Security over there.
3. Select File History.
4. Find Recovery on the bottom-left part of the screen and open it.
5. Click Open System Restore, and then Next to see the available Restore Points list.
6. Confirm selection and initiate the restoring process.
