How to post Gifs from your
computer
1. Visit ‘https://slack.com/signin’ on your
computer’s browser.
2. Type ‘Slack URL’ of your workspace in the
sign in field.
3. Click ‘Continue’ to log in into your Slack
team.
4. Select a ‘Channel’ from the channels list
at the left side menu.
5. Click the ‘+’ box at the bottom next to the
message typing field.
6. Select ‘Your Computer’ in the prompted
menu.
7. Browse the Gif location.
8. Find and select the ‘Gif’ to send in
conversation.
9. Click ‘Open’ button at the lower left
corner.
10. Open the ‘Share with:’ dropdown menu to
select who can see your shared Gif.
11. After selecting the audience, click the
green ‘Upload’ button.
The GIF is shared with the audience you selected.
How
to add and post Gifs from Giphy
Before using Gifs from Giphy into your Slack conversation, you
need to settings up Giphy in your Slack account. To install Giphy follow these
steps.
1. Visit ‘slack.com/signin’ on your computer’s
browser.
2. Type ‘Slack URL’ of your workspace in the
sign in field.
3. Click ‘Continue’ to log in into your Slack
team.
4. When you’re in, click the URL field at the
top.
5. Enter ‘slack.com/apps/A0F827J2C-giphy’ into
it.
6. Press ‘Enter’ key. This opens the Giphy
installation page opens on your screen.
7. Click the green ‘Install’ button.
8. Then click ‘Add Giphy Integration’ button.
9. Click the ‘General Audiences’ drop down box
to choose the maximum rating.
10. And choose a Gif rating from the options.
11. Now, click ‘Save Integration’ button.
Now, you can use Giphy to share Gifs in any of your Slack
channels.
How
to share Gifs from Giphy in Slack
Once you set up Giphy in your Slack account, you can send GIFs
directly from the message typing field. Here’s how.
1. Visit ‘slack.com/signin’ on your computer’s
browser.
2. Type ‘Slack URL’ of your workspace in the
sign in field.
3. Click ‘Continue’ to log in into your Slack
team.
4. Select a ‘Channel’ from the channels list
at the left side menu.
5. Click on the message typing field at the
bottom.
6. Type “/giphy dogs” (without quotes), you
can type any GIF you want to share in place of “dogs.”
7. Gifs match with the word you entered appear
on the screen.
8. Click the ‘Shuffle’ button below the image
to view more related Gifs.
9. Keep clicking until you’ll not find a Gif
you like to send.
10. Click the ‘Send’ button to share in the
channel. The Gif you shared now displays in the conversation.
