How to enable and use Multitasking features on iPad


Multitasking is a great feature that makes your work easy. With multitasking gesture, you can switch between the apps quickly. iPad with iOS 10 or newer supports multitasking, on different version you get different features. How to use Multitouch gestures on your iPad
1.    With gesture navigation of your iPad, you can use your four fingers and pinch together to go through the apps and home screen.
2.    With your one finger swipe up from the lower side of the screen to access the Dock.
Steps to open App Switcher or Multitasking view:
1.    Just place your four fingers on the iPad display.
2.    And swipe up.
Steps to go back to the home screen
1.    Just place your four fingers on the iPad display.
2.    And pinch with them together.
Steps to switch between the apps:
1.    Just place your four fingers on the iPad display.
2.    And swipe from one side to another (from left to right or opposite).
If an external keyboard is connected, then you can use it to switch between the apps. Use 'Command-Tab' to do this. If the screen returns back, it means there is no app to switch.
How to enable and disable multitasking features
There are some controls for multitasking on your iPad, with them you can enable and disable some of its features.
To enable and disable the Slide Over:
Although in iPads the Slide Over feature is activated by default. However, if you've iPad with iOS 11, then you can disable this feature.
1.    Open 'Settings' of your iPad.
2.    Navigate to 'General' settings.
3.    Select 'Multitasking.'
4.    Look for the 'Allow Multiple Apps' option. It is on the top.
5.    Turn off the switch of 'Allow Multiple Apps' to disable the feature.
6.    And turn on the switch of 'Allow Multiple Apps' to enable it.
To enable and disable the Picture in Picture:
Although in iPads the Picture-in-Picture feature is enabled by default. However, if you've iPad with iOS 11, then you can disable this feature.
1.    Open 'Settings' of your iPad.
2.    Navigate to 'General' settings.
3.    Select 'Multitasking.'
4.    Look for the 'Persistent Video Overlay' option. It is the second option.
5.    Turn off the switch of 'Persistent Video Overlay' to disable the feature.
6.    And turn on the switch of 'Persistent Video Overlay' to enable it.
To enable and disable the gesture navigation:
Although the iPads have gesture navigation feature enabled by default. However, if you've iPad with iOS 11, then you can disable this feature.
1.    Open 'Settings' of your iPad.
2.    Navigate to 'General' settings.
3.    Select 'Multitasking.'
4.    Look for the 'Gesture' option. It is the third option.
5.    Turn off the switch of 'Gesture' to disable the feature.
6.    And turn on the switch of 'Gesture' to enable it.

To enable and disable the show Recent Apps feature:
This is the feature that shows you the recently used apps, and it is enabled by default on most or the iPads. However, if you've iPad with iOS 11, then you can disable this feature.
1.    Open 'Settings' of your iPad.
2.    Navigate to 'General' settings.
3.    Select 'Multitasking.'
7.    Look for the 'Show Recent' option. It is the last option.
8.    Turn off the switch of 'Show Recent' to disable the feature.
4.    And turn on the switch of 'Show Recent' to enable it.
