How to disable Find My iPhone and remove Activation Lock on your iPhone or iPad


The Activation Lock is the way to protect your iPhone from theft or unknown people by preventing them from taking, restoring, and wiping your iPhone or iPad without your permission. This is activated by using an Apple ID.



If you want to add a new Apple account to your iPhone, then it will require removing the current account. Or when you’re giving your iPhone to your cousin or anyone, or you’re selling your iPhone or iPad, then to set up a new Apple ID, you need to remove the already activated. Also, keep this in mind when you’re purchasing an old iPhone or iPad because with an Apple ID enabled you can’t restore or wipe it without the Account holder permission.
Note: Resetting your iPhone or iPad will remove all the data and settings from your iOS device, and this will also ask you to turn off Find My iPhone and remove Activation Lock. You can also reset your iPhone or iPad to turn off Find My iPhone and remove Activation Lock of your iPhone or iPad.
Sign out from your iCloud account if you’re selling your iPhone or iPad. You’ll also require turning off Find My iPhone and signing out when you’re sending your device to the Service center. Otherwise, the technicians can’t do anything if your iPhone is locked. Simply turn off Find My iPhone and remove your Apple ID by signed out from iCloud and erase all data and settings.
To do this in iOS 10.2 or older:
1.    Access your iPhone settings.
2.    Click on your ‘Apple ID.’
3.    Go down and click on ‘Sign Out’ and confirm.
4.    Click on ‘Delete’ from My iPhone.
5.    And type your password.
6.    Now, return to Settings and open General settings’
7.    Select ‘Reset’ and ‘Erase All Content and Settings.’
To do this in iOS 10.3 or newer:
1.    Access your iPhone settings.
2.    Click on [Your name].
3.    Go down and click on ‘Sign Out.’
4.    Type your password and then tap on ‘Turn Off.’
5.    Now, return to Settings and open General settings’
6.    Select ‘Reset’ and ‘Erase All Content and Settings.’
How to disable Find My iPhone or iPad
Find My iPhone feature and Activation Lock both features are linked with each other. Turning off Find My iPhone is the fastest way to remove Activation Lock if your iPhone is on your hand.
Here is how to turn off Find My iPhone plus Activation Lock:
1.    Access your iPhone settings.
2.    Click on your ‘Apple ID.’
3.    Go to ‘iCloud.’
4.    And tap on ‘Find My iPhone’ on iCloud screen.
5.    Turn off the Find My iPhone toggle switch.
6.    Provide your Apple ID password, when asked.
7.    And tap on ‘Turn Off’ to confirm.
